Thief Takes 45 Minutes to Break Glass With Slingshot: Police

It took a man almost 45 minutes to use a slingshot to get inside an area business.

Surveillance cameras captured the man early Wednesday breaking into the Palm Tree Market on Cresson Street in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia.

It took him a while.

Philadelphia Police released video Friday that shows the man -- wearing a hoodie and baggy blue jeans -- clumsily fumbling with a slingshot as he stands in the vestibule leading to the store around 5 a.m.

For 45 minutes the man stands there before finally breaking the glass and getting inside, according to police.

Once inside you see the man, wearing gloves, clean out the cash register and take a handful of items before leaving the store. The man wound up swiping $120 in loose change, some Dutch Masters cigars and various other items from the store, according to police.

Police described him a medium-built male.
