Shootout Riddles Daycare, Cars, Home With Bullets

Bullet lands inside daycare filled with children

It's a miracle that a shootout between three men on a busy street corner ended with no injuries.

The bullets started flying around 3:30 p.m. Thursday along the 6600 block of Lebanon Street in the West Philadelphia section of the city, police say.

Two men began firing at a third man who was standing nearby. That man then began shooting sending a barrage of lead into BNC Daycare, parked cars and a home, police say.

One bullet pierced a first floor window of the daycare, landing on the floor. There were about a dozen young children inside the center during the shooting.

"It's crazy because all the guys that were shooting at each other, none of them got shot, what if a kid would've got shot," daycare owner Charmaine Gaines said. "They don't even know if a kid got shot."

Luckily, no one was hurt in the daycare, in the house or on the street.

Police are still searching for all three men, who remain at large.
