Early Morning Shooting Leaves Man Critically Wounded in Philadelphia's Kensington Neighborhood

A man was in extremely critical condition early Sunday after police say someone shot him in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood at dawn.

Police said gunfire erupted on Lee Street near Westmoreland minutes after 5 a.m. The victim, whose age and identity were not released early Sunday, suffered gunshot wounds to the face, back and arm, according to police.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remained in extremely critical condition after 6 a.m.

No arrests were made, and police did not say what motivated the shooting.
