Woman Promotes Bogus Sheryl Crow Concert in New Jersey, Admits Selling Tickets

A South Jersey woman admitted to selling tickets to a purported Sheryl Crow concert, even though she knew the artist wouldn't be performing there.

The Burlington County Times reported 42-year-old Kelly Bryan pleaded guilty to theft by deception on Tuesday.

The Burlington Township woman admitted that she advertised the fake concert at Flying W Airport Resort on Facebook, sold the tickets and booked vendors while operating as KBR Promotions. The fake concert was set for Aug. 15, 2015. [[374726521, C]]

Bryan said she was working with a booking company to get Crow to headline the show but acknowledged there was never a contract in place and she falsely promoted that Crow would perform.

Bryan faces up to five years of probation when she's sentenced on June 14. Prosecutors said she's also expected to be ordered to pay between $20,000 and $30,000 in restitution.
