2 Hurt in Crash on Grays Ferry Bridge

A serious crash on the Grays Ferry Bridge has sent two people to the hospital.

The collision between a sedan and pickup truck took place on the bridge's eastbound lanes around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officials said.

The Philadelphia Fire Department says two people were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.

Several paramedics and fire crews were sent to the bridge, which crosses the Schuylkill River in West Philadelphia. The crossing is located near a Fed Ex sorting facility and Waste Management Recycling Center, just south of University City.

The conditions of those involved in the crash were not immediately available.
