Serious Charges Await Man Who Took Main Line Teen to DC

Ashley Hareford is awaiting extradition to Delaware County

Ashley Hareford, 20, waived an arraignment on Thursday on charges of corruption of a minor. He is currently awaiting extradition from Washington, D.C. to Delaware County.

Hareford is accused of picking up a 13-year-old Radnor Township girl from her home on Monday and taking her across state lines.

He was arrested Tuesday night at Union Station after police got a tip that the pair was spotted at 30th Street Station together boarding a bus.

Sources tell NBC10 that more serious charges will be filed against Hareford when he arrives here on December 10.

The father of the teenage girl says his daughter met the Virginia man online and had conversations with him. Investigators said they discovered an “inappropriate” picture in their online interaction, although it was not pornographic.

"Anytime you have a 20-year-old pursuing a 13-year-old on the Internet, that individual is a predator, period, end of story," said Radnor Police Chief Bill Colarulo.
