5 Charged in 42 Home Burglaries in New Jersey, Hundreds of Stolen Guns, Electronics Recovered

Five men face charges stemming from 42 home burglaries in Bergen and Monmouth counties.

Their arrests capped a six-month investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office special investigations squad that was formed after a series of daytime heists.

Detectives say they have recovered hundreds of stolen guns, jewelry, electronics, collectables, antique coins, cellphones and a safe.

The towns where the burglaries occurred include Allendale, Englewood, Franklin Lakes, Fairfield, Fair Lawn, Hillsdale, Mahwah, Nutley, Oakland, Oceanport, Old Tappan, Parsippany, Pearl River, New York, Ridgewood, River Edge, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Tinton Falls, Totowa, Verona, Waldwick, Washington Township and Woodcliff Lake.
