Coffee Shop Rapist Sentenced to 33 Years

A man who pleaded guilty to raping and robbing a South Philly coffee shop worker appeared in court for sentencing.

A man who raped and robbed a South Philadelphia coffee shop worker was sentenced to 33-1/2 to 63 years in prison.

On March 31, Christopher Reeves, 32, attacked a 29-year-old woman at the Bean Exchange on 7th and Bainbridge.

The woman gave Reeves a small amount of cash after he told her he was homeless and needed money. Police say Reeves then returned an hour later, stole $173 from her register, forced her into a bathroom and raped her.

Reeves was arrested in Chester on April 3 after police received a tip.

On October 12, he pleaded guilty to rape, robbery and other related charges.
