2nd Shooting at Basketball Game This Week

Man opens fire during basketball game In West Philly

A gunman opened fire during a basketball game Wednesday night at a West Philadelphia recreational center.

Police were called to the Mill Creek Playground at 47th and Brown after someone whipped out a gun and began shooting just after 9 p.m.

A 26-year old man was rushed to the hospital. He was hit in the buttocks and arm.

This is the second shooting at a Philadelphia playground this week. 

On Monday night, six people were wounded when someone opened fire at a league game at the Kingsessing Recreation Center.

In both cases, the shooter got away.  The two are are unrelated, police said.  But investigators are asking people to come forward if they have any information about either shooting.
