Second Man Arrested in Hymie's Robbery: Cops

The investigation continues and police say they are still searching for two other suspects

A second arrest has been made in connection to an armed robbery at Hymie's Restaurant located on 342 Montgomery Avenue in Lower Merion.

Police arrested 34-year-old John Leroy Moore, Jr., of Philadelphia, on Tuesday. Police say he was one of four armed men who robbed the popular deli just after 9:00 p.m. on July 14.

After entering the store, the four men ordered everyone inside to go to the front, lie on the ground and hand over their phones and wallets, according to investigators. The restaurant manager was then ordered to open the register and hand over the cash inside.

Moore is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing for him is scheduled for August 28.

The first suspect arrested was Michael Shawn Schaefer, 40, of Philadelphia. Police brought him into custody on July 24.

They are still searching for the other two suspects.
