The man entered the store around 8:00, and began smashing the glass cases full of jewelry with a hammer, authorities said.

"The clerk started screaming, and he wasn't able to get anything out of the cases.  The glass never shattered, it just kept cracking," according to Detective Stephen Wegner, Burlington Township Police.

The suspect left behind a stolen white Ford Explorer, which had been stolen from Philadelphia in October, police said.

This type of crime fits a pattern of others that police have seen in the area, including other jewelry stores, police said.  They also believe he may have been working with at least two other people.

Burlington Township Police are asking anyone with information, to give them a call at 609-239-5896.
