Search Underway for Missing Mentally Disabled Teen

Brandon Eckert has been missing since 6 a.m. from his group home in W. Whiteland Twp.

The search is on for a missing 16-year-old with mental disabilities from a West Whiteland Township group home.

According to police, Brandon Eckert was discovered missing during a bed check around 6 a.m. Tuesday. They believe that Eckert ran away from the group home on the 700-block of King Road where he was a resident.

Police and K-9 dogs were canvassing the area around the home but as of 4 p.m. Eckert still hadn't turned up.

They are asking the public's assistance in locating the missing boy.

Eckert is a white male between 5-feet-5-inches and 5-feet-7-inches tall. He weighs around 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing faded jeans, socks and thin framed glasses.
