What Killed Quarry Scuba Diver?

A coroner says more tests are needed to determine what killed a scuba diver found dead at a former quarry in eastern Pennsylvania.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says an autopsy was performed Monday on the body of 38-year-old Eugene Fleysher of Saddle Brook, N.J.

But Grim said a ruling on the cause of death was deferred pending toxicology test results.

Fleysher was diving at Dutch Springs, a former cement quarry turned diving spot in Northampton County's Lower Nazareth Township, when he was found unresponsive in the water around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say Fleysher was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The (Easton) Express-Times reports the 50-acre Dutch Springs quarry lake attracts about 30,000 divers a year.
