School Panel Clears Student Accused of Rape

A Delaware State University student who was arrested on rape charges in October has been cleared by a university judicial panel of allegations that he violated the student code of conduct.

Andre L. Henry, 21, was notified Monday that the panel found him not responsible for the alleged sexual assault, which a female student claimed took place in a University Village apartment.

Henry, who had been suspended from campus after his arrest, was told no disciplinary action would be taken against him.

The university panel's decision comes after state prosecutors dropped rape charges against Henry last month.

Henry, a member of the school track and field team, has filed a federal lawsuit against university officials and his accuser, alleging violation of his civil rights, malicious prosecution and defamation.
