The former head of the parents' group for the schools in Philadelphia was sentenced to house arrest for stealing more than $100,000 from the organization.
Greg Wade, former Philadelphia Home and School Council President was sentenced Monday to a minimum of 11-and-a-half months of house arrest, followed by 54 months of probation, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Other council members were really upset, despite Wade's apology.
"This is one of the worst days of my life," he said in court, reading from a statement.
Wade pleaded guilty in May to taking more than $115,000 from the council. He used the money for personal items, including a 2009 Dodge Journey.
"Your epitath should read: 'Stole from the children of the School District of Philadelphia,'" former council secretary Rose Lentz read from her statement. She called Wade a "master manipulator," the paper reports.
The group hasn't been able to pay out scholarships to graduating seniors since 2007 because of the thefts, said current Council President Dolores Solomon.

Common Pleas Court Judge Joyce Eubanks ordered Wade to repay the money, though she had no idea how he'd do that.
