School Bus Crash in Spring Township Injures 17

A packed school bus was rear-ended by another vehicle along a Berks County, Pennsylvania road Monday afternoon injuring 17 people, school district officials tell NBC10.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday along the 2800 block of Shillington Road in Spring Township.

A Wilson School District bus was carrying 36 students from Southern Middle School when the crash happened, district officials said. They were headed back to school after a trip to the Berks County Career and Technology Center.

Seventeen students were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for minor injuries like bruises, officials said.

The circumstances surrounding the crash was not immediately known.
