Sandusky Jurors Review Mike McQueary Testimony

Jurors in the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse trial spent Friday morning reviewing testimony from a key witness for the prosecution, Mike McQueary

Jurors in the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse trial returned to deliberations around 11 a.m. on Friday after reviewing testimony from Mike McQueary, a key witness for the prosecution.

They reviewed his testimony as well as the testimony of Dr. Jonathan Dranov. Dranov is the family friend that McQueary confiding in the same night McQueary says he saw Jerry Sandusky in the shower with a young boy and heard sexual sounds.

McQueary, who also worked for the Penn State football program, testified that when he saw Sandusky in one of the school showers with a young boy, he also heard skin-on-skin sounds that he interpreted as sexual. McQueary testified that he saw Jerry Sandusky pressed right up against the back of the young boy and that the boy had his hands up against the wall. Coach Sandusky's arms were wrapped around the boy's mid-section, according to McQueary.

Dr. Dranov told the jury that Mike McQueary was shaken the night it happened.

Legal experts say the alleged shower incident and the question of exactly what McQueary saw may be tough for jurors because there is a witness but jurors have not seen or heard from a victim. The alleged victim, known as Victim No. 2 from the grand jury testimony, has never been identified and did not testify. Prosecutors are asking the jury in the case of Victim No. 2 to find Sandusky guilty of a felony sexual assault.

Friday was the second day of deliberations for the sequestered jurors. The trial wrapped on Thursday morning after seven days of testimony and jurors deliberated into the night before adjourning.

A few hours after jurors went behind closed doors to begin considering verdicts on the 48 counts, Matt Sandusky, one of Jerry's adopted children issued a statement through his attorney saying that he was a victim of abuse by Jerry Sandusky. We also learned on Thursday that Matt Sandusky was prepared to testify against his father if Jerry Sandusky took the stand in his own defense.

Sandusky, a former assistant football coach at Penn State, is accused of abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period of time. NBC is reporting that prosecutors are holding more alleged victims to possibly charge Sandusky again if he is not convicted.

Once jurors tell the judge they have a verdict, the court is allowing 20 minutes for everyone to get back into the courtroom. When we get that notice, we will bring it to you live on NBC10 News and on NBC10.com.
