Rutgers Suicide Trial Set to Begin

Intense questioning during jury selection continues on Tuesday in the trial for the man accused of spying on Tyler Clementi

Jury selection is due to continue Tuesday in the trial of a former Rutgers student accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate's intimate encounter with another man.

Nineteen-year-old Dharun Ravi faces 15 criminal counts, including invasion of privacy and bias intimidation, a hate crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The case sparked a national conversation about the impact of bullying on young gays after the alleged victim, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide in 2010.

About 220 prospective jurors were brought to court last week to fill out questionnaires. But lawyers in the case will likely dismiss many of them Tuesday based on the answers they gave.

The remainder will be asked to come to court starting Wednesday for deeper questioning.
