Rutgers Board Elects New Chair

The Rutgers Board of Governors has elected a new chair.

Greg Brown will assume the post July 1. He was elected Thursday at the board's meeting in New Brunswick.
 
The Barrington Hills, Ill.-resident is a Rutgers alumnus and the chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Solutions.

Brown had been vice chair of the Board of Governors and is a public governor whose term expires in 2017. He is also a member of the Rutgers Board of Trustees and formerly served on the university foundation's Board of Overseers.
 
Brown earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers' Livingston College in 1982.

He succeeds Gerald C. Harvey as chair of the Board of Governors.
