Room Change Request at Issue in Webcam Spying Case

Tyler Clementi requested a private room and wrote on the form that Dharun Ravi spied on him with a webcam, attorneys say

A judge will have to decide what jurors hear about a Rutgers University student's request for a new room in the days before he committed suicide

The question is at issue in the trial of Tyler Clementi's roommate, Dharun Ravi. Nineteen-year-old Ravi is charged with invasion of privacy, bias intimidation and other counts.

His lawyer says it's OK to tell jurors that Clementi requested a private room. But he objects to jurors hearing that he wrote on a form that Ravi was using a webcam to spy on him.

Clementi jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge days after the alleged spying.

In testimony Monday, jurors heard from two Rutgers students. One saw Twitter messages from Ravi about seeing Clementi on a webcam.

One says she saw seconds of the video herself.
