Power Outage Knocks Out Classes

A power outage  left not only about 200 customers without power this morning but it also knocked out power to a well-known area Catholic school.

A message on Roman Catholic High School’s website summed up the situation:

"Due to an electricity outage, school will be CLOSED today, Oct 21."

PECO confirmed to NBC10 that some sort of power line issue knocked out power to around 200 customers sometime in the early morning.

Crews worked throughout the morning trying to find the root of the outage.

PECO originally said that they expected to get everyone’s power back on sometime in the morning but as of 11 a.m. about 150 customers were still without power.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.

Roman Catholic first opened in 1890 at Broad and Vine Streets in Center City featuring imposing Gothic architecture.
