Robbers Target Local Radio Shacks

Police are searching for the men responsible for robbing two Philadelphia Radio Shacks.

Police are searching for robbers who targeted two local Radio Shack stores last Wednesday and Monday.

The first robbery happened Monday at the Radio Shack on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street around 9 p.m. While employees were preparing to close the store, police say one man pulled a gun and pointed it at the employees, forcing them to the rear of the store. He was then joined by a second suspect, according to investigators. The two allegedly stole televisions, laptop computers and GPS devices and placed them into trash bags. Police say they then fled the store through the rear door in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a thick beard and orange highlights. He was last seen wearing baggy clothing, a black jacket, tan hoody, dark jeans, Timberland boots, a black face mask and black gloves.

The second suspect is described as a tall and thin black male. He was last seen wearing a gray hoody, blue jeans, Timberland boots, face mask and skully hat.

The second robbery happened on Wednesday around 6 p.m. at the Radio Shack on East Olney Avenue. Police say an armed man entered the store and pointed it at an employee demanding money. The suspect allegedly grabbed $485 in cash before fleeing on foot west toward Front Street.

The suspect is described as a 30-year-old black male, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 190 pounds with a light complexion and freckles. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black pea coat and blue jeans. It’s unknown whether the suspect is one of the two described in the first robbery.
