Rite Aid Pharmacy Robbed Twice in a Week

Police tell NBC10 the Rite Aid pharmacy just began staying open 24 hours.

A Rite Aid pharmacy in Northeast Philadelphia was robbed for the second time in a week early Monday morning.

The pharmacy on Welsh Road was held up by an armed man around 2:30 a.m. According to police, the masked man demanded Oxycodone and Percocet from the pharmacy before fleeing the store in a blue SUV.

No one was hurt in the robbery, although the store's unarmed security guard tells NBC10’s Tim Furlong the suspect held a gun to the back of his head.

Police tell NBC10 the suspect was wearing a white mask, a hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. They say the man reeked of alcohol.

The store is open.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
