Former 4th Grade Teacher Turned Burglar: Police

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a former elementary school teacher in suburban Philadelphia they say is connected to several home burglaries.

Ridley Township Police said an arrest warrant has been issued for 30-year-old Michael Innaurato.

Until last April, he was a fourth-grade teacher at Amosland Elementary School. That's when police said he abruptly quit his job.

On Feb. 6, police said Innaurato allegedly broke into his father's home and stole a safe, checks, cash and jewelry, as well as a .45-caliber handgun and ammunition.

Ridley Detective Lt. Scott Willoughby said Innaurato is wanted on felony burglary and related offenses. Police said he is also a suspect in break-ins at homes of two other people he knew.

Amosland parents were worried that Innaurato remained on the loose.

"He's just like a ticking time bomb and I don't know what's going through his mind," said parent Ann Marie Callahan.

School officials are cooperating fully with Ridley cops, they said.
