Reward Offered in Murder of Trenton Pharmacist

A pharmacist was shot and killed during a botched robbery inside a Trenton Pharmacy late Friday afternoon, according to Trenton Police.

On Tuesday afternoon the folks over at RxPatrol.org (operated by Purdue Pharma L.P.) offered up a $10,000 reward for information leading the arrest of the man who allegedly murdered a pharmacist inside Brunswick Pharmacy on the 700 block of Brunswick Avenue.

The shooting happened around 5:50 p.m. when a suspect entered the pharmacy with a gun and demanded controlled substances, police said.

The suspect -- described as a black male in his late teens, about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 between 140 to 150 pounds -- allegedly went behind the counter and pulled out a bag for the pharmacist to put the drugs in, police said.

But the pharmacist refused to give the robber the drugs and was shot, cops said.

Medical workers responded to the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital but he died on the way, according to police.

The suspect fled the scene and remained on the loose Tuesday.

“We urge the public to provide tips, no matter how big or small, to give the detectives assigned to this case some direction in the investigation,” said Trenton Police Director, Joseph Juniak.

Anyone with info about this murder or the suspect should call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (888) 4RxTIPS or (888-479-8477).
