The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward for information that can lead to the arrest of a man wanted on suspicion of being involved in both the shooting of former baseball player David Ortiz and an attempted murder in the Lehigh Valley.

Luis Rivas-Clase, 31, should be considered "armed and dangerous" and could be hiding out in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or the Bronx, New York, Marshals Service spokesman Rob Miller said in a news release. The USMS is offering $5,000 for information that leads to his arrest.

Known as "The Surgeon," Rivas-Clase is wanted on a charge of conspiracy to commit homicide in connection to a shooting that took place on the 900 block of North Front Street in Reading back on April 22, 2018, in which a man was shot in the lower back. The victim survived his injuries.

Rivas-Clase allegedly threatened to kill the victim a few days prior to the incident. Police said Rivas-Clase conspired with another suspect to shoot the man.

Rivas-Clase is also wanted in connection to a June 9 shooting that left former Red Sox superstar David Ortiz wounded in the Dominican Republic.

Rivas-Clase, who himself is from the Caribbean nation, has prominent neck tattoos, stands about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds, Miller said. Anyone with information is asked to submit their tip to the U.S. Marshals Service.
