Registered Sex Offender Takes Girls for a Ride: Cops

Neighbors say the man is known to ride bikes with children and take them to the park.

Two girls are safe at home in the Harrowgate section of Kensington after taking a long bike ride on Thursday night with a registered sex offender, according to police.

Police say that around 9:30 p.m. they began searching for the two girls, ages 10 and 12, who went for a bike ride with a 30-year-old man who was convicting of rape, aggravated indecent assault and corrupting a minor in 2000.

The parents knew the girls went riding with the man, but grew alarmed as the hours passed and called police, according to authorities.

It is unknown whether or not the parents were aware that the man was a registered sex offender.

The girls were found around 11 p.m.

No arrest has been made. Police are working to determine if the girls were harmed in anyway.
