Registered Sex Offender Arrested for Stalking Teen

Man allegedly harasses, stalks teen girl

A registered sex offender living in Havertown, Pa. was arrested Thursday after he allegedly stalked and harassed a 16-yer-old girl.

Police picked up Daniel Reynolds-Demchur at his Stanley Avenue home.

The 21-year-old is listed on Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law Website for a 2008 conviction for “luring a child into a motor vehicle or structure.”

The most recent accusations are that Reynolds-Demchur allegedly bought the victim a phone and began sending her sexually explicit text messages after meeting her at a party earlier this month, according to authorities.

He even asked her for oral sex on at least two occasions, according to the criminal complaint.

The girl told police that Reynolds-Demchur would constantly call the cell phone, her home as well as send her messages on Facebook.

Investigators say the girl and her friend confronted Reynolds outside the Sacred Heart Church and called police after learning he’s a registered sex offender.

"It does concern you a bit especially with so many little kids on our street," said neighbor Richard Steelman.

No one answered the door at Reynolds home Friday night.

Reynolds-Demchur faces a slew of charges including obscene and sexual material, unlawful contact with a minor, harassment and stalking. He was arraigned Friday and sent to prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
