Red Cross Assists 15 Fire Victims During Holiday Weekend

Workers say they provided assistance for more than a dozen fire victims

The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania says they’ve assisted 15 people following fires in Philadelphia and Delaware County over the holiday weekend.

Organizers say they’ve helped a family of two in the 2700 block of Kane Street in Chester early Christmas morning. They also assisted two people in the 800 block of Cottman Avenue in South Philadelphia.

Workers say they provided money for food, clothing, winter coats, and other emergency needs.

The Red Cross is urging fire safety. Officials say they typically see more fires during the colder months.
