Prosecutor: Boyfriend Set Up Deadly Drug Deal

A western Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges that he set up a drug deal at which his girlfriend was later robbed and killed.

Bedford County District Attorney William Higgins isn't accusing 22-year-old Benjamin Holsinger with causing the death of Stephanie Waters. But he says Waters might still be alive had Holsinger not sent her to conduct the transaction instead of going himself.

Two teens are charged as adults in the robbery and death of Waters on Jan. 8. Higgins says the teens robbed the woman, they drove around smoking the pot they stole while she lay dying of a gunshot wound in the back seat.

Holsinger faces a preliminary hearing April 15 on drug conspiracy and another charge. Online court documents don't list an attorney for him.
