Prisoners Evacuated After Water Leak at Philly Police Headquarters

Forty-five prisoners were moved to a different location after Philadelphia Police Headquarters sprung a leak

A pipe burst at Philadelphia Police Headquarters, forcing the evacuation of 45 prisoners Sunday.

The pipe that was connected to the sprinkler system burst in the ceiling, causing the water leak at Eighth and Race Street headquarters at about 6:30 p.m., reports the Inquirer.

The prisoners were moved to cells at Ninth District headquarters near North 21st and Hamilton streets, reports the Inquirer.

The leak was stopped by Sunday night. There were no injuries reported.
