Missing Princess!

Delaware police on the hunt for dog snatchers.

You know it’s a slow day on the police beat when the cops in Delaware send out a story about Princess, the stolen Chihuahua.

But this one’s pretty dramatic.

Princess, a cute little Chihuahua, was snatched, right out of the yard and the dog’s owner went vigilante, trying desperately on her own to chase down the getaway car. No luck. Princess is still missing. New Castle Police are seriously asking for your help on this one.

Here’s the police version of the story:
Princess was let out into the back yard Wednesday afternoon around 3:45. A few minutes later, the dog’s owner went out to check on Princess.  The dog was gone. The fence gate was slightly open. The woman ran to her front yard (1400 block of Oak Hill Drive) and saw two people, a woman and someone else, who both appeared to be coaxing Princess into their car.

When the woman behind the wheel saw the dog’s owner, she sped off in a black-colored Honda Civic or Accord type with Delaware plates.

Princess’s owner tried to chase the car down in her own car, but lost sight of the getaway car as it sped onto Spruce Street toward Elsmere. The driver was described as a heavy set Hispanic female, 30-40 years of age, with black hair pulled into a ponytail. The victim did not get a good look at the passenger.

Princess has on a blue collar, but no name tag. The 6-year old Chihuahua is tan in color and is white on the chest and belly.

New Castle County Police are trying to track down Princess and the suspects. If you have any info, please call them at 302-395-8171, or log onto their website or call Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
