Pot Left on Porch of 2nd Upper Darby Resident

Second "special delivery" reported to police in less than a week

A second Upper Darby resident has received a package containing marijuana less than a week after an elderly township couple turned over a “pot package” to police.

The Upper Darby police say that a woman called police after discovering a package on the front porch of her Keystone Street home from an Arizona address that she did not recognize.

According to authorities, the woman, whose home is located behind the Upper Darby police station, opened the mystery package delivered by the U.S. Postal system because she was expecting a delivery from Babies-R-Us. What she discovered was not baby strollers and diapers, but rather five-pounds of marijuana.

The drugs were wrapped in plastic and dipped in oil and vinegar to mask the odor of the drugs, police said.

Authorities say the pot is high-grade and has a street value of about $22,000.

Police have determined that the Arizona return address is a fake, much like the one on the package delivered to a couple on Heather Road in Upper Darby.
