Police Seize 78 Pounds of Marijuana in Jersey City

Three Pennsylvania residents have been charged after police in Jersey City seized a nearly 80-pound shipment of marijuana.

Police received a call Wednesday about a suspicious package at a warehouse in the city. They discovered three boxes shipped from Arizona that appeared to contain marijuana.
 
Detectives waited until Thursday when Benjamin Tyson of Philadelphia arrived with a receipt for the shipment. The 54-year-old was arrested with 48-year-old Desmond Lewis, also of Philadelphia, and 32-year-old Tyshea Tyson of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The boxes held 78 pounds of marijuana.

The two men were being held in lieu of bail in Hudson County Jail. Tyshea Tyson posted bail.
 
Officials tell the Jersey Journal Benjamin Tyson has been arrested 17 times in Pennsylvania. It wasn't known whether he and Tyshea Tyson are related.
