Police Search for Thieves Targeting Homes in Lower Merion and Haverford Townships

Police are trying to determine if the break-ins are related

Police are looking for the burglars who targeted a half dozen homes in Lower Merion and Haverford Townships over the past month.

Investigators say the homes are within a half mile of each other but they are not sure whether the break-ins are related so far.

Thieves kicked in the doors of two homes in Wynnewood this past week and got away with jewelry and electronics, according to police.

Kate Ramos, who lives along Forest Road, said thieves kicked in her front door and gained access to her heirloom jewelry.

“They got my jewelry which was really my mother’s jewelry and my grandmother’s and my husband’s mothers so that’s all irreplaceable. It’s a lot of memories that are gone beside the monetary value.”

Police say the thieves came back days later and targeted a home a block away on Farwood Road.

Lower Merion Police dealt with a rash of burglaries in the Penn Wynne neighborhood back in September. Most of those thefts happened during broad daylight.

If you have any information regarding the break-ins please contact Lower Merion and Haverford Township police.
