Police Search for Possible Suspect in Deadly Shooting Outside Peace Concert

Philadelphia Police have released the photo of a man who may have been involved in a deadly shooting outside a Philadelphia anti-violence concert.

Alexis Guevara, 20, was outside the Dell Music Center in the city's Fairmount Park when he was shot shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told police Guevara got into an argument with an unidentified man. Investigators say the two men may have been fighting over a woman.

The suspect then pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking Guevara in the stomach and right thigh. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 2:15 a.m. Thursday.

Guevara was attending the "Philly Support Philly: Peace on the Streets'' concert with a friend, according to family members who created a web page to raise funds for the victim's funeral.

"They robbed a family member from us," said Guevara's sister Dolly Guevara. "I can only imagine what my parents are going through. My family needs closure."

None of the approximately 600 people inside the venue were injured.

On Sunday, police released a photo of a man who they want to interview regarding the shooting. Anyone with information on his identity and whereabouts is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334/35.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
