New Castle County Police are searching for a missing teenage girl and her infant daughter.

Darlene Cooper, 16, and her 4-week-old daughter Sona Fogan, who live on the 700 block of Christiana Road in the Cedar Wood Apartment complex in Newark, Delaware, were last seen by a family member on Saturday. The family told police Cooper and Fogan were at a motel on West Avenue in New Castle with Cooper’s boyfriend. Police also say Cooper sent a text message to her mother stating that she was headed to an unknown location in Philadelphia.
Officers checked the motel and surrounding area but were unable to find them. Cooper is described as a black female, standing 5-foot-2 and weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Police have not yet provided a description for Cooper’s daughter. Police also say Cooper’s medical status is such that there is a real concern for her safety.
