Police Capture Escaped Prisoner: Officials

Police captured a prisoner who allegedly escaped while being transported after a preliminary hearing.

On Monday, Daniel Joseph Preziosi, 24, jumped into a nearby Sedan after leaving district court in Nazareth, according to police.

Police say Preziosi somehow slipped off his handcuffs and leg shackles before fleeing.  The escape occurred while the Pennsylvania State Constable was transporting the suspect after his preliminary hearing over robbery, simple assault and other charges, according to police.

The robbery suspect allegedly jumped into a Toyota Camry, which the police eventually located outside a strip club.

On Tuesday, around 10 a.m., police say Preziosi went inside the GIANT supermarket in Lower Nazareth to use the bathroom. While inside, investigators say a store associate recognized Preziosi and called police.

Officers responded to the scene and arrested Preziosi without incident. He faces several escape charges, according to investigators.
