New Castle County Police are looking for two men who allegedly attempted to rob two people in Simonds Gardens Friday evening.
Police responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Sheridan Road and Dallas Road shortly before 7 p.m. They found a 30-year-old man and 19-year-old woman who told police that they had been sitting in a car in the 300 block of Sheridan Drive when two armed men approached them.
Investigators say that the man pulled away from the armed strangers, who attempted to follow the vehicle on foot. Moments later, the people in the car heard a single gunshot.
Efforts to find the suspects were unsuccessful. They are described as two black males in their late teens. Police say that both men wore dark clothing and one had his face partially covered.
