Police are investigating an alleged attempted sexual assault of a teenage girl in Cape May Court House.
The girl told police it happened Thursday around 2:30 p.m. near the overpass on East Atlantic Avenue. The man attacked her and attempted to sexually assault her, according to the teen.
The girl described the suspect as a muscular and husky black male standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-9 with a visible scar on his right middle finger. She also told police he was wearing dark clothing and a ski mask.
The Middle Township Police Department and Middle Township School District will have an increased presence before and after school as a precaution.
