Police Investigate 2 Home Invasions, Guns Used

Police are investigating a home invasion in Wilmington in which two men allegedly knocked on a home's door and then forced their way inside.

Police say it happened Saturday around 2:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Springer Street. Police say when a 21-year-old man opened the door two men displayed a handgun and forced their way inside. The men took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

Police described one suspect as 6 feet tall, between 25 and 29 years old, and wearing dark jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and black Adidas shoes. The second suspect is described as between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing dark colored jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Delaware authorities are also investigating a home invasion in Dover in which three men armed with handguns and baseball bats allegedly forced their way into a home.

The Delaware State Police says it happened around 2:15 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of North Wilson Drive in Dover.

The Delaware State Police says three men wearing dark masks over their faces forced their way into the home and took cash before fleeing. The group also allegedly assaulted four of the home's seven occupants. One man was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Three other male victims declined medical treatment.

The Delaware State Police says an investigation has determined this home invasion was not a random act and the victims were targeted.
