Person of Interest Uncovered in Temple Student Hit and Run

Student still in critical condition after Sunday's incident

Philadelphia Police have identified a person of interest in the Sunday morning hit and run of a Temple University student.

Tony Foltz, 24, was crossing the Ben Franklin Parkway at 22nd Street around 2 a.m. Sunday when he was struck.

The student was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical condition, where he still remains Tuesday.

Foltz had surgery on his badly injured leg and also sustained a skull fracture in the accident.

Investigators say they identified the person of interest after finding a white Subaru resembling eyewitness descriptions of the car involved. The Subaru was impounded after being discovered in East Falls Monday afternoon.

The person of interest was expected to meet with police Tuesday, but never showed, officials said. He was under no obligation to appear.

Foltz's father Richard told NBC Philadelphia the family just wants the man responsible to come forward.

"We understand how somebody could make a poor decision and run off, but the family wants to know what happened," he said.

The law student was just weeks from graduation at the time of the incident.
