Police ID Suspect in Fatal Road Rage Shooting

Police have released the identity of a man who was arrested for allegedly killing a man and injuring a woman during a fit of road rage over the weekend.

Christopher Fields, 33, of Newark, New Jersey is accused of shooting 43-year-old Todd Riley as well as Riley's passenger, a 31-year-old woman, near 5th Street and Roosevelt Boulevard on Saturday around 11:15 p.m.

Riley was struck multiple times in the chest and leg while the woman was struck twice in the stomach.

Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital. Riley died at 12:35 a.m. The woman remains in stable condition.

Police say Fields was riding a motorcycle with two other people on board at the time of the shooting. Investigators suspect he opened fire after Riley didn't allow the motorcycle to cut in front of his vehicle.

Responding officers say they spotted Fields jumping off the motorcycle and fleeing northbound on 5th Street moments after the shooting. He was located a short time later and taken into custody. Investigators say they found a gun in his possession. He is charged with murder and other related offenses.

The other two people allegedly on the motorcycle remain on the loose.
