Police, Firefighter Arrested for Sex Assault: Prosecutor

The accuser, who is now 23, reported the alleged abuse last week. She says she had repeated sexual contact with members of the police and fire departments in Old Forge

A northeastern Pennsylvania town's police chief, a police captain and a former volunteer firefighter have been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl inside the police and fire building.

Prosecutors say there may be still more arrests as authorities work to confirm details provided by the accuser, now 23, who reported the alleged abuse last week.

The woman says she had repeated sexual contact with members of the police and fire departments in Old Forge starting when she was 14.

Chief Larry Semenza is facing charges that include aggravated indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor. Also facing charges are Capt. Jamie Krenitsky and former volunteer firefighter Walt Chiavacci.

Prosecutor Jennifer McCambridge declined to say Thursday whether other accusers have emerged, but confirms the investigation is ongoing.
