Pennsylvania Plastic Surgeon Due in Court on Witness Tampering Charges

A western Pennsylvania plastic surgeon was due in court on charges he tampered with grand jury witnesses and patient records subpoenaed by federal investigators.

Sixty-eight-year-old Dr. Daniel Teet practices in Greensburg, where the federal Drug Enforcement Administration is chasing allegations that he overmedicated drug-dependent patients. He's not been charged with that - but federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh say he has asked grand jury witnesses to lie and changed some patient records after-the-fact to hide how he's been prescribing the drugs in question.

Teet's attorney says his client is a reputable surgeon who's being wrongly accused by junkies and has done nothing wrong.

The doctor was due to appear before a federal magistrate in Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon.
