2 Injured During Emergency Chopper Landing

South Brunswick police say the pilot and passenger were injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration says a helicopter made an emergency landing behind a school in
central New Jersey Wednesday.

FAA spokesman Jim Peters says two people were aboard the Robinson R22 that came down behind Indian Fields Elementary School in South Brunswick.

Police Sgt. Jim Ryan says the pilot and passenger were injured.

The extent of the injuries isn't known.

WABC-TV footage shows the chopper upright on its skids with damage to its tail section.

Ryan says the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m.

The FAA does not yet know who was operating the chopper.
