The Philadelphia School District will close all schools at noon on Monday due to heat.
When the District posted the announcement on their website over the weekend, the National Weather Service was predicting temperatures in the upper 90s.
As of Monday morning, NBC10 meteorologist Bill Henley said temperatures will only reach a high of 84.
The early closure does include early childhood programs.
During the 12 p.m. dismissal time, normal transportation will occur for students, according to the District.
The District also says all after school programs will be canceled. Staff will remain in the building until all students have left or have been picked up.
Any new information on today's early dismissal will be posted on the Districtβs Information Hotline at 215-400-4636.
