Woman Makes Up Kidnapping, Rape: Police

Police in Pennsylvania say a woman made up a story about being kidnapped and raped because she was angry at her boyfriend.

Authorities in South Centre Township -- about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia -- say they'd been investigating the May 18 report made by 24-year-old Berwick resident Tasha Ann Jenkins. The Press Enterprise reports she said she had been arguing with her boyfriend and that she got out of the car and he drove off.

Police say she called 911 to report she'd been kidnapped and raped by a group of men in a van. But authorities say she eventually told them she wanted to make her boyfriend feel bad for leaving her behind.

She's charged with making false statements and making a false report, according to online court records.

It couldn't immediately be determined if Jenkins had an attorney. She isn’t due in court until July 12.
