Dance and snack in a double-decker bus or view art in a shipping container at Philly’s month-long pop-up park on the parkway.
Crews have already started transforming the Benjamin Franklin Parkway into The Oval+, a colorful park for all ages featuring large murals, sports arenas, art galleries, food trucks, games and more.
The program starts on Friday, July 19, and ends on August 18.
Right now, the outbound outer lanes on the north side of parkway are closed to vehicles between 20th street and Art Museum Drive.
All Vine Street traffic will be directed to the parkway inner lanes or directed right onto 20th Street.
These road closures will continue until August 25.
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy started The Oval+ program last summer.

There will be three new sections of fun this year: “MAKE,” “PLAY” and “HEAR.”
The “MAKE” block in front of the Barnes Foundation will have outdoor reading and music rooms as well as the shipping container art gallery.
The “PLAY” block in front of the Rodin Museum will include a pop-up basketball court, tether ball, badminton, ping-pong tables and bleachers.
The “HEAR” block in front of Von Colln Park will feature art installations by the artist NDA and Mural Arts Philadelphia, stadium seating and the double-decker bus music venue and snack stand.
