Philly Fire Department Receives Over $21K in Grants

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a huge boost thanks to FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security.

On Saturday Pa. Senator Bob Casey announced that the two agencies gave the fire department $21,051 in grants.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their communities safe,” Casey said. “This money will help provide Philadelphia’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”

The funds were given through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program which strengthens the health and safety of first responders nationwide.
